“When I told Dan I was planning to run a 50 mile trail race, he laid it out for me. All the things to expect, and how it was different than road marathons. He did it in a way that didn’t overwhelm or frighten me. Dan explained the importance of walking hills, eating actual food, and often, the importance of pacing myself. He was there for me every step of the way. He would hear my worries and fears and turn them into self belief.

As a new ultrarunner, I can’t say it enough, a coach makes a huge difference. I look forward to many more ultras, including my first 100 miler attempt, with Dan as my coach. He’s proven to me twice already that he’s got my back.”

“As an athlete and someone who thrives on pushing myself, I always have my eye on the next big challenge. It took one friend to ask me to pace her at one 100-mile race for me to fall in love with the idea of ultramarathons. It didn’t take long, however, for me to realize that endurance trail running was a whole new sport and I’d need an expert to guide my journey. Enter Dan England.

I met Dan through an online community of outdoor enthusiasts on TikTok. His quick wit and kindness made him approachable, relatable, and easy to get along with. I knew Dan could help me. Dan and I got started right away setting goals and talking strategy for my first ultras. Dan is direct in setting expectations, flexible in accommodating hurdles as they arise, and helps me stay realistic and grounded. His familiarity with so many courses helped me feel confident in choosing my first race. He is actively training for his own races, which means he is fully engaged in training as much as he expects me to be. It’s a partnership that is setting me up to succeed. Dan’s passion for exploring the outdoors on foot is infectious and his personal accomplishments speak volumes about his expertise. Whether it be running short or long races or hiking in the Rocky’s up to the highest peaks, Dan is the coach you need to get you there.”

Carol

I know many of you already know Dan England, but if you don’t, he is one of the first people to tell me I could run a marathon. He knew it years before I attempted it. Along the way, he gave me a lot of great advice and support.
